“Tasty Overall Position for the Final Two Racesâ€
The 2007 Texas Mountain Bike Race Association (TMBRA) Championship Series had its 6th race at Cameron Park in Waco. The weather was overcast, humid, with a slight morning chill. In other words, perfect weather for mountain bike racing.
This was a pivotal race for several members of the squad vying for top spots in the overall standings. As if the trail wasn’t one of the more difficult ones of the entire series, the competition was deep, and all of the race classes had more than the regular number of riders. Considering all this, Big Pig Racing did well, and still holds on to some top spots in the overall standings, with only two races to go in the Championship Series

Upcoming Events and News
The next TMBRA race is Sunday, May 6th in Cold Springs for the GHORBA Big Ring Challenge. They don’t call it the “big ring†challenge for nothing. The course is as flat as you will find in Texas, and will be a hammerfest. Big Pig Racing will have a full race tent set up. There are only two races left in the series and 5 or more riders have a chance to be in the Top 5 Overall.
The PayDirt points don’t get posted until after that race, so a lot is on the line on May 6th and the top spots are still up for grabs. Big Pig is holding its own, and certainly making the rest of the racing community stand up and take notice.
No rest for the wicked. Just 1 month after the TMBRA series is over the annual Judgment Day ride in DFW happens on June 23rd. This event will take place over 24hrs and challenge riders/racers to ride 11 trails in the DORBA trail system, without ever leaving DFW. The Expert distance for this event is just over 93 miles. One month after that is the Smurfboy 6 hr Race at St. Joe, right in the middle of July. Should be nice and cool by then…
